The weigh-off is a featured event as part of the 2023 State Fair of Virginia at the fairgrounds in Doswell, VA. Participants must register with the State Fair in advance. Pumpkins and other crops must arrive the morning of. Registered participants will receive drop-off instructions and tickets in advance.

Giants remain onsite for display during the duration of the fair and may be picked up after the fair on Monday, October 2nd.

Virginia-based participants are invited to opt-in for the $500 “VA Grown Pick-Of-The-Patch Award,” the selected pumpkin will be sent to Capitol Square to be on display through the season.
